The basin cottage has been extensively modernised. Most of the remaining structures are in surprisingly good condition. The basin itself is six feet deep and built of massive stone blocks. The lock is buried but gives the appearance of being intact except, possibly, for the top layer of stone/bricks.  The four arch flood relief aqueduct is still there and with a bit of clearance work would look impressive.

***********************************

The bad news is that the aqueduct over the River Churn and the bridge over the junction were deliberately destroyed c1930.
