November 3rd/4th 2007

This weekend WRG had their "Bonfire Bash". Over 150 Wrgies turned
up to work on several sites on the North Wilts Canal.
We were lucky enough to benefit from this event.

The plan was for them to continue clearing the scrub from the towpath and canal bed to the south of the Basin.  At the end of the weekend, thanks to their efforts, we now have another length of clear canal and a towpath more easily walkable. While they were scrub bashing we concentrated on clearing another section of the west wall of the Basin.  At the same time Keith, with Karen and Malcolm, cleared the area around the old junction bridge, exposing one of the abutments and making the whole are  much more interesting. It was a very enjoyable and successful weekend and our thanks go to everyone concerned.
